*SPOILERS AHEAD WOOT WOOT*
(at least I warned you, right?)
HOoooooooooo boy.
Whelp.
I watched Star Wars: The Force Awakens because I was the most beautifully patient person on this planet and WAITED UNTIL IT CAME OUT.
YESHHHH.
Clear to say, I have slight bragging rights. Slight. Itty bitty bragging rights.
Eh.
But, far to say, I was surprised and thrilled. Adore every moment of it. Thank you Disney for not ruining all our hopes and dreams, THANK. YOU.
*starts screeching When You Wish Upon A Star*
So.
I have this slight propensity to ... *ahem* ... like zee bad guys.
And when I mean "like" I mean, if they have emotional problems and a pretty face, YES, I will love them and hug them and feed them Poptarts, AND DEFEND THEM WITH MY EVERY WAKING BREATH. (pretty face is optional, Tom Hiddleston has the most disgustingly gross, inhuman, diabolically perfect face on this green planet, so yeaaaahh...)
Enter Mr. Anger-Management Solo.
Come on, he's dark and tall and has a freaky helmet and a fiery lightsaber, what is not to love? (not to mention the stompy black boots! BLACK BOOTS ARE MY WEAKNESS *SOBS ANGRILY*)
No.
I hate his guts.
I really do.
You thought this was going to be fangirly, DID'NT YAH?
Well, someone beat the drums and give it up for moi.
I hate his freakin' guts.
And his face.
UGH.
However ... I am also smitten.
*wild goat screams in back from my friends who knew it all along*
Did I already mention the weakness I have for villains? Yea, yea, well, it just got so much worse, mah friends...
I think he's at the stage Anakin was in the third episode. He wants good, he can't escape darkness. He wants to lash out in anger and loss, he wants to be at peace even more.
"I want to be free from this pain."
What pain? Is he merely bitter at Han for not being there? Is he fighting and struggling against the pull he feels to both the Dark and the Light? What makes this guy tick?
(that last one was a bad question ... *snorts* because someone could sneeze and he'd beat up some tech, it's hilarious and frightening)
The battle stance, skill, technique he used is incredibly brutal, much like Anakin's after he was turned over. But I think he's trying twice as hard, to reach this goal he's set for himself. He's a raving maniac of power and anger, that's evident.
But what goal?
"...grandfather"
What did Anikan start? He was seduced by the Dark side, but what happened first? Anakin was out to destroy it, the Sith and Lord Sidious. Out to destroy the Dark side, out to conquer what he could not possibly conquer. No one, sole person could, even if your the strongest Jedi or Sith, even if the Force is with you.
And that's the major point with Anakin, he wanted to do it himself. Pride had already taken over, and he was the easy and the most valuable target to get at. Also, tragically, the most powerful.
Why couldn't Kylo Ren be the same? Perhaps that is why he idolizes Vader.
Read this already, it's just too good.
Notice, Han calls him Ben, his given name. And yet the First Oder knows him as Kylo Ren.
Anakin was turned into Darth Vader. There's a separation, from the Light to Dark, that's taken, even to changing identity, because the Dark side does destroy. Remember Kylo's bitter, "He was weak and foolish, like his father. So I destroyed him."?
Kylo knows it, he's not blind. But Snoke is using the riveting temptation with the Dark, because we all want to being charge, and powerful, and handle everything and everyone. And Kylo seems to want it more then most, maybe because, like his grandfather, he is infinitely blessed with abilities of the Force.
Also, Kylo must have trained with Luke. Luke was very likely his master. And Kylo was very likely the one who destroyed all Luke's work, and the apprentices. But why? What made him do it? Simply getting back at his parents for sending him away because he was a little fart as a child?
I don't think so. The guy has issues. non of which are simple or petty. If he was ANYTHING like his grandfather, he probably had a cockiness about him, and that, plus Han's sass, YIKES. And ... *ahem* ...he has a slight anger problem.
So, was it just fickle, a momentarily thought out rant? Or had he planed it?
This all smells like the stink of revenge.
We basically have Ben "major sassy, rad grandpa Vader's force skills, anger management much" Solo.
(gosh, try and say that one)
I don't even know, I really don't. It's all confusing and new, and I was impressed, I'll tell yah that much. And this turned out to be mostly just questions no one will know uuunnnnttill .... this is where I'd say "oh well, guess we'll all have to wait until the next movie is out", BUT NOOOOOOOOOO.
Chew on all that for a while, people.
Bye.
